Dr. Andrew Campbell graduated dental school in 2003 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada receiving honors for the highest academic standing in his class. He then completed a one-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX.
Dr. Campbell continued his specialty training in Washington DC completing a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Washington Hospital Center in 2008. He trained extensively in the areas of dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, anesthesia, facial trauma repair, dentofacial deformity correction and oral pathology.
Most recently Dr. Campbell completed a fellowship in Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Craniofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. While there he became proficient in managing the surgical needs of cleft lip and palate patients from infancy through adulthood. Extensive experience was gained in primary repair of cleft lips and palates, bone grafting cleft defects, orthognathic surgery and implant restoration of craniofacial patients.
Additional training was received in pediatric anesthesia and managing children and adolescents with complex medical conditions. Dr. Campbell plans on continuing to treat cleft lip and palate patients on medical missions to developing nations.
Dr. Campbell has published multiple scientific articles relating to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery and has spoken at multiple national meetings.
Dr. Campbell is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Campbell believes strongly in providing excellent care to all his patients. He relies on solid training, up-to-date knowledge, clear communication and a positive environment to obtain the best and most predictable results.
While in Dallas he met his future wife Alison who was attending Baylor Dental College at the time and who has since completed a pediatric dental residency at the University of Maryland.
They were married in New Braunfels, Texas in 2006 and welcomed their first child in September 2008. They now have three youngsters: Cole, Evie and Tessa.
